Here are some news highlights from 2015.

Tapestry embroiderers visit Bergen

Berit Damm and Randi Arstal are the two ladies whose initials are stitched at the bottom of the tapestry panel they embroidered to be a part of the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry, an endeavour which the Bergen Scottish Society has the honour and privilege of displaying to the Norwegian public. 

Bergen is the first stop in the international tour of the exhibition of the 214 panels stitched in time to tour the globe.  Note, the worldwide response to the concept has resulted in 305 panels being produced.  Not bad for an endeavour which had an original goal of 150 panels!

Berit and Randi took the night train from Oslo to spend the day in Bergen and to see the exhibition which they contributed to.  They signed the guestbook and were each presented with a book showing the panels on tour, as a token of appreciation from the Tapestry organizers.

The Bergen Scottish Society also thanks them for their efforts in not only stitching the panel of Edvard Grieg, whose great great grandfather John Greig migrated from Scotland to Norway, but also for the effort made to travel to Bergen to see the exhibition.
