Minne Kultursenter arrangement, Lordehytta jubileet

Some members of the Bergen Pipes & Drums played to a crowd at the Minne Åseral Kultursenter celebrating the jubilee of the Åseral kommune's Lordehytta. Check out the video on Facebook of the festivities, including the impromptu piping in of/Address to a Haggis.

Amazing Grace

Three members of the Bergen Pipes & Drums scottish highlands pipeband gave a moving performance of 'Amazing Grace' at Den Blå Steinen in Bergen to those who gathered to remember those who were lost at Utøya 22 july 2011.
The players remained in the area afterwards and played both 'Scotland the Brave' and 'Nystemten' in the beautiful sunshine to appreciative audiences of passers-by.
Founding member presented with hononary membership

Patricia Schreuder and James Hosea, both founding members of the Society, have been granted status as honorary members. It was at the Burns Supper that Pat was presented with a framed tartan as a token of appreciation for the many ways in which she has served the Society from its beginnings in 2005. James received his framed tartan at the 2011 Autumn Ceilidh.

Haggis, Motbydelig Godt!

Bergens Avisen newspaper launched a full page spread on the making of haggis! Our own Bjarne Sutherland was interviewed along with Thomas from Solheim Kjøtt. They divulged the ingredients of this traditional Scottish dish, but as the article noted, not even they know what Joe Findlay's famous spice mix consists of.
