| Wednesday 16th September NHH Professor Bjørn Basberg held a very interesting talk entitled “South Georgia – a Scottish Norwegian meeting place for over a hundred years”. The economic history of the whaling industry was presented alongside breathtaking photographs of the area. We were lucky to also have a former whaler in the audience who shared memories of his days on a whaling ship touring the same Antarctic region. |
