Membership of the Bergen Scottish Society is open to everyone who shares an interest in Scotland and Scottish culture.

As a voluntary, not for profit organization we aim to keep the costs for events down to the bare minimum. We receive no external funding, and are therefore reliant on good attendance at our events and on building up our membership.

Membership benefits

We are prudent and do not believe in getting something for nothing. As such we ensure that the benefits available to our members outweigh the cost of membership:

  • Opportunity to meet and socialise with a broad cross section of people who share an interest in Scotland and Scottish culture
  • Wide variety of Scottish cultural events, including Burns Supper, whisky tasting, ceilidhs and a curling evening
  • Members’ price at all major social events, which essentially pays for your membership fee.

The annual membership fee is 150 kr. per calendar year. Note, there is no fee for members under the age of 18.

Payment is now available via Vipps, just search for "Bergen Scottish Society" or use #507034 and write "[your name]-membership" in the Message field along with your email address.

If paying via netbank, please transfer the appropriate funds to the Society's account 3411.27.21721 with "[your name]-membership" in the Melding til mottaker field.

Your membership will become valid once we have confirmed receipt of your membership fee.

With these two easy steps you'll enjoy membership prices to all our events. We look forward to welcoming you as a member of the Bergen Scottish Society!
