Bergen Pipes & Drums

Bergen Pipeband was originally formed in September 2005 following the chance meeting of a British and a Danish piper.

In November 2009 the band changed its name to Bergen Pipes & Drums. The pipe band is a regular feature at Bergen Scottish Society ceilidhs and Burns' Suppers, the 17th of May celebrations in Bergen and many other events.

The pipe band also plays at high profile events like the 2008 Tall Ships Race in Bergen and the Pillaguri festival in Otta, as well as featuring on national and local television and radio.

Learn to play the pipes and drums

Are you keen to learn either the bagpipes or drums? Do you want to play in a pipe band?

Both young and older students are most welcome to come and try them out. Tuition is free. Existing players are, of course, very welcome to join us as well!

We practice at Nordnes Skole every Monday and Wednesday from 7 pm - 9 pm. Why not come along and join us?

Hire a pipe band!

Both Bergen Pipe & Drums and individual pipers and drummers are available to play at events as diverse as birthdays, graduations, weddings, funerals and julebord, as well as other private, public and corporate functions.
